Howdy, how're you going?

Welcome to the mid-winter Jimbo's newsletter - not a very pet-centric newsletter this round, more of an opportunity to say thanks to you all for being our loyal customers, and thanks to our amazing team.

It has been a funny month since I last put digit to keyboard. It started off with Sam, our Pet Advisor and general boffin of petfoodology, flying away to Borneo to spend three months at the Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre. Sam being Sam, she is still assisting from the jungle with customer enquiries, Facebook, surveys and the like, I’m sure we will have some interesting stories on her return. Next up we had our Jimbo's Pottles recognised as a finalist in the Worldstar Packaging Awards which was pretty cool, and then………………………………………………………….
I had this really odd email from an organisation called Canstar Blue who said, out of all pet owners surveyed in New Zealand who had purchased petfood in the last three months, Jimbo's customers were the most satisfied in the 5 categories surveyed! I thought “Dave, this is a bit spammy, your next email will be from a Nigerian king”. But no, this was legitimate, Jimbo's was the most highly rated out of all NZ Petfoods! Well, I puffed my little chest out and did a little dance and smiled for a week.

SooOO, no cat and dog stories from me this month, just a huge thanks to you, our loyal pet-owning customers, for giving us the highest possible accolade! And thanks to our team, all 50-something of you, for your ongoing hard work, dedication and pursuit of excellence and customer satisfaction - it’s a huge credit to you.

Jimbo's Hypoallergenic

Do you have an itchy, scratchy dog? We have just the thing! Jimbo's Hypoallergenic contains no beef or chicken protein (two of the most common causes of food-related allergies in dogs today), and as with all of our products is 100% grain-free.

Of course, this product is great for all dogs - not just ones with allergies! The novel-protein in Jimbo's Hypollergenic adds variety to the diet. It has a relatively high calorie content, which makes it great for puppies too. For more info click on the picture below.

The Jimbo's Gallery
We love to hear all about your pets! Send in your fur family photos to our online Gallery and share their stories with us and the rest of the world. Every entry goes in the monthly draw to WIN $30 of Jimbo's vouchers!
Congratulations to Amy from Lower Hutt for winning July's draw with the above photo of Rion with a plane he loved so much that he pretty much ate in the end!
Frequently Asked Questions
Do you have a question about our products, or want some feeding advice? Send us your questions for our Pet Advisor to answer.
"I accidentally fed your dog food to my cat!"

We get plenty of calls from people who have accidentally bought Jimbo's "dog" food for their cats, or vice versa - so if you have done this in the past don't worry- you're not the only one!

It is important to note that nutritionally all Jimbo's products are fine for both cats and dogs (apart from the Veal Bones). There are a couple of main differences in the cat & dog products:

  • Cat products are lower in calories than the dog products,
  • Dog products tend to be chunkier than the cat products.
You are not going to harm a healthy cat or dog by feeding it a different product. Just keep in mind that if you have an overweight cat it's best to stick to the low-calorie cat food. A tip for overweight dogs - you could also feed them the "cat" food to keep them full but without as many calories!
